Smile Have you noticed the difference.

Since FFF's ownership of Fishing Magic, I and a few others have become regulars on this website.

And there is one difference between the two websites that stares you in the face.

Most members who post regularly on FM use their real names with only a few using pseudonyms. And those that do list their personal details anyway.

On FFF, it's the opposite, ie: most posters use a pseudonym.

This prompts the question: "why?"

Could it be that fly fishers have something to hide?

Does it matter, or are you a snoop from a government department.
Maybe you should be worrying if a sinker or floater would be best to tempt the monster of the deep out of hiding.

Ooooops forgot

I think it is simply an environmental phenomonon, monkey see monkey do... folks tend to be far more forthright than on other forums here is that coincidence ??, i think people see how others conduct themselves and act accordingly...

Personally speaking, having been on here under nicknames and my real name, I've certainly moderated what I say now I'm under my real name, but have received far more grief from certain people as a result! The moral on this forum therefore seems to be use a nickname, and go for it! Or use your real name, and hardly voice any opinions.

Ooops! That was an opinion, here we go again!

The only time having a pseudonym caused any problems was when you said things you would not say to someone standing next to you.
Under the new admin this is much less of a problem .
I personally feel quite happy about it,and see no reason to stop it.

Jim

PS, I have never been on Fishing Magic

I have no problem with names on here and Jim is quite right in what he has said.I will say the same on here as I would to anyone if face to face.
Majority on here will meet each other around the various fishing locations in the country and thats what makes the forum so good.
Many more new members have finally joined the forum and are taking part in it with discussions and posts which can only be a good sign to its success and its great to have them here as everyone has a part to play and an opinion doesnt really matter what your name is.
