Default Spider patterns for rainbows

I have had some success fishing a small black Spider for Bows,
But Ive never fished them a lot, how successful do you Spider enthusiasts,
find them for Rainbows. do you find them as good as Buzzers?

I've caught some but if I'm not on dries I'm using nymphs of some description
not very adventurous there as I tend to use flies that have worked before

I have used spiders and caught one or two but only on my friends advice

there is a nice hotspot thorax spider in troutfisherman I'd like to try out though

I rekon a sparse black spider is a great black buzzer imitation especially when you want something that will fish a little higher in the water, before the fish have started rising properly.

I'd agree with that Phil. Have been having some great fun on a Stewarts Black spider lately. Size 16 on the top dropper of three. Great fly.
