Default Kinlochbervie and Sandwood Loch

Having taught my wife and son to fly fish we are off to Kinlochbervie for a fortnight's trout and sea fishing. We will mainly be fishing Sandwood and the lochs to the south of it towards Blairmore and some of the Rhiconich hotels lochs if we can.
I normally fish chalkstreams and small fisheries - can someone just let me know what flies we would need for both the brown trout and the sea trout please? Will we be OK using floating lines with long leaders (never used a sinking line so would have to buy some!!)
What do these lochs fish like and is there anywhere else up there we should try? We are new to this forum - it is very good so here's hoping someone can help!! Tight lines.

Hi There,
I fished sandwood loch last season and a floater will definitely be all you need. The water level was very low so I'd check before hiking in (we were camping out there anyway rather than hiking in for the fishing), we met some locals going in for a fish when we were on the way out and they turned back when we told them what the water level was like.
I waded around most of the loch and at no point did it go over my waist so even if there was 4 foot more depth to it it would still only be about 8 foot deep.
I didnt catch anything but that would be down to the water level and my inability rather than there no being any fish! Traditional patterns would do it, soldier palmer, kate mclaren, bibio etc and a few dries for an evening rise. Not so sure about the sea trout flies but I am sure someone will help you out.
It my favourite place in the world, hope you enjoy it, I am jealous two whole weeks in heaven!

Thanks for the replies. Joxy, can you remember where the golf course was? Durness has a golf course but it is on the coast with no loch on the 18th. Sounds as though you had a great time in the area!!
