Default river cottage.. trout on the otter

Dont know if anyone else saw this tonight, stunning little river... but i wasnt surprised they blanked... tippet like washing line and flies the size of chinooks, shame they had to resort to downstream tactics to finslly hook up....
there were plenty of rises goin on

i couldnt make my mind up if everything was bigger "for telly" but the way that dry was being dragged about by the leader that was screaming it was there l think the just werent good fly anglers

Its the river Axe that runs through Axminster and it is

Was down there last night ready to fish for Seatrout but three guys beat us to the beat we were going to fish.

For me, Axminster is local for the Otter, tho the Axe is also inviting....

Need to get another business appt at the carpet factory...........

I thought that the rods were a bit on the long side considering the amount of trees/bushes around. Not surprised to see a few 'up-the -tree' casts. I would have fished my trusty old 7 footer.....................birdsnest

Very kind of you WCB - May be a month or two, I have a few customers in Devon - mostly in the textile trade. I'm always looking for an excuse to visit them but now more so since I took up fly fishing!
