Default Holiday Idea's Who Can Advise?

OK, moving swifly on from other suggestions, myself and SWMBO, have finally stopped messing around and have decided upon two entirely different destinations.

I wonder if anyone else has experience of either accomodations and would like to add their tuppence worth?

River Usk, and the Gliffaes Hotel, looks great, and loads of river to go at on a Wye & Usk week ticket. They have a Gillie available for a day or two, which I guess would help us relative newbies out loads?

OR..............The lovely Scourie hotel in Scotland? I know they are both entirely different, but which location would make for the most fun week, and the most relaxation whilst fishing? Whichever on we choose this time will mean the other waits untill next year

There dont appear to be any rivers around the Scourie region, and we fancy some river Brownies, but the wild Loch Brownies would doubtless be great too.

ANy info, or advice would be much appreciated, or maybe some other suggestions for a weeks break with your other half who also likes a 'dabble', in the U.K.

Regards
Jas

Stayed here:-

Enjoyed both.

Driving home. Drove past this right out in the wilds. Loads of fishing:-

Default wye and usk

you must try the WUF waters they are fantastic. contact the foundation and they will put you right. gillafes is a lovely hotel but you can get some tremendous value renting your own cottage. i stay at kilsby cottage at llanwrtyd wells, a few miles off the beaten track but the scenery is magnificent. look it up on the web. please post your final choice and your results when you return. regards jon.

Simple! Join the MFA [best fifteen quid you will ever spend] and book into the Park Hotel at Pandy - you'll get a hefty discount as an MFA member.

Right on the doorstep you'll have access to all of the WUF Monnow beats - simply the best wild brownie fishing on these fair islands, all for a few pounds per day.

Brecon, Abergavenny, Hay on Wye etc., all within easy reach.
