Default Stuck Rod Sections

I think I saw the answer previously but am now in trouble. Have a very nice 10' 3 piece boat rod from Ron Thompson. Trouble is that the bottom and mid sections wont loosen! Have put nothing between sections to free them in case I make a horlicks of it.
Can anyone help please. Got a lovely one and three quarter pounder BROWN TROUT from Lough Melvin last Sunday on that rod. It was a Brown not a Gillarroo. Took a Green Peter on a no 10 hook with a red butt and a couple of pheasant knotted legs. Horrible day cold, drizzly grey then humid overcast. Fishing was slowish but moved a lot of trout who all just pulled away from the fly. When the bullocks stand with their derrieres to the wind all day and barely move I have noticed that the fish on Melvin do come short. That's deviating. Like the rod and would like if someone could help.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and posted an answer somewhere on the forum.

I tried several recommended methods but the one that worked was: get a bag of peas out of the freezer and wrap them around the joint for a good half an hour or so until the joint is freezing cold. Then you need the wife's Marigolds to get a good firm grip. Grip the joint, pull and twist at the same time.

the cold thing is the best way, i've found. To prevent said event reoccuring, apply candle wax to the joins, not only does it stop them sticking, but it doesn't affect how the joints hold.

Thank you all. Will certainly give the cold treatment to the rod. Will post result in a couple of weeks after I go to Melvin again.
