Hi all went fishing yesterday on the River Derwent near Gateshead and caught my first brownie and only fish on the fly since I took up fly fishing,well I caught a wild brownie of a couple of ounces on a snipe & purple unfortunately when I went to take a picture of it after taken the hook out it escape from my hand. I also had trouble at the start trying to tie my fly to my leader as I could not see the leader or tie it so it looks as though I will have to buy one of those Magnetic Tippet Threader to help me tie my tippets Well I had a good morning out so I will be looking to go out again soon.

Well done Browntrout62. I just joined the wild Brown club a few days ago. I too purchased one of the magnetic threaders from the US and find it very useful. Especially last night on Barnsfold at 10.25pm (I'm a stockie-basher too).
