I have a subscription to Trout Fisherman.
I enjoy the articles, discover new venues, and learn new Tactics.
This magazine deals with fly fishing for trout, This is exactly what I want to do

I tend to favor the magazines that focus on real fishing instead of being filled with Luxo Lodge and tackle adverts masquerading as "articles". These are North American mags, of course:

- Salmon, Trout, and Steelheader - Not a fly-fishing-only mag, so there are lots of articles showcasing some very creative hardware hurling and meat flinging techniques as well, but the mag does good coverage of real fishing in the PNW, Canada, Great Lakes, and Alaska with plenty of fly fishing mixed in.

- The Drake - Good articles and it can be quite a funny read. The Ramboesque mentality of the steelhead freak comes shining through.

- Easter Flyfishing - Covers the eastern half of the US and Canada, focuses less on how to fish and more on where to fish. I like this mag because it gives specifics with exact rivers sections detailed, maps, etc.

I just had an argument with my dughter who emptied some boxes containing T&S going back some 20 years. She didnt throw them out -just dumped them on the attic floor. Her retort was what are you saving them for you'll never read them again.I'm sure she has a point as I am a hoarder.
BTW I have subs for T&S and FY&FT and also buy Trout F from time to time.
