Default Can nylon attach to flourocarbon and be secure?

If so how is it done?

If not

Is the only way with superglue?

Really looking for a knot but I have it in mind that they are not compatible.

Thanks for viewing in the meantime.

I was informed by a fluorocarbon manufacturer that superglue should not be used anywhere near fluorocarbon as it will impair the chemical make-up, or in laymans terms - melt it!

I've used a blood knot and it worked well enough - I've also used a loop-to-loop connection using a perfection loop knot in the fluorocarbon.

Try a few samples at home before trying it out on the water.

I agree with Downstream. Perfection loop on each end.

Loopy,

Hope you are well.

I use a blood knot if tying up fluro to copolymer lines. Be sure to wet them thouroughly and draw up slowly.

Always check it afterwards though with a good stretch as I have found that sometimes, just soetimes they dont take and I re-tie them but once secure, it wont come undone.

best wishes

Ben

theres only one really safe way as the flurocarbon will/can cut through the nylon/co polymer and that is to use tippet rings for a safe reliable connection of two entirely differently made lines !!!

I am happy to use double surgeons loops to join fluro tippets to mono/copoly tapers!

But if you don't want to use rings there is another way, back to back Uni knots will do the job just fine. This gives you two stop knots pulling against each other, so no cutting and no slipping.
