Avon "skin so soft" seems to be the current favourite..... I kid you not...

Piles of it for sale in outdoor shops in Fort William etc.

Apparently it's used by the Forces as well.

I've heard that the variant in the blue bottle is best.

Seems to work for me.

Cheers

Avon Skin So Soft is the only one that works for me. The midges will still land on you but they will not bite. The one you want has a green lid and is called Woodland Fresh.

Another vote for the Avon skin so soft. However it won't deter the horse flies. You'll need some heavy duty deet to keep those b*stards away.

I'm off up north next week.

Avon have changed the name of Skin So Soft Woodland Fresh to Soft and Fresh, but it is still the same stuff.

Chuckie,

I asked the Forum about Skin So Soft. The attached thread gives quite a bit of information.

http://flyforums.co.uk/showthread.ph...845#post442845

The thread starts off about fishing but bear with it because it gets to Skin So Soft after a page or so.

Cheers,

Dovebob
