I am fishing down in the consett area on weds as its a free day before sweethope charity compy on thurs,i have a few choices ,River derwent,derwent res,knitsley mill or a practice day on sweethope.Can anyone let me know how any of these are fishing at the moment.?

I just came back from a couple of hours on the Derwent at Shotley Bridge and didn't get a touch. Mind you, the river's low, the sun's shining and at times it seemed like there were more dogs in the river than fish, so perhaps I shouldn't be too downhearted!

The river's fishing very well above Allensford though, or at least it certainly was last week when the mayfly were streaming off it all over the place. The fishing can be a bit commando up there at times though, with no paths once you're more than a few hundred yards off the road.
