Hi river fly fisher

Welcome to the forum.

The words fairly cheap mean different things to different people but you could do worse than take in this article.

I hope it helps.

Hi riverfisher, We were on the Wensum on Saturday. A lovely bit of river, both of the day ticket beats are nice. Had 3 on Saturday, and one lovely wild fish a couple of weeks before.

There's not mush other river fishing that I have managed to find yet, but I keep on asking farmers!

If you're a member of the Salmon & Trout Association they have a few stretches river in Norfolk on day tickets, including the River Nar in Narborough just opposite us. The contact details for the Norfolk officer to gain info or a ticket is here

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know about fishing in the River Glaven between Blakeney and Cley? I think there used to be some club water downstream of the road between the two villages, it is a lovely river here. I have caught sea trout on the worm in the tidal stretch above the road. It was about 30 years ago

Morning all.

The beat we fished was down from Bintry Mill, the closest beat to the mill is reserved for members of the syndicate, but the two lower beats are accessible on a day ticket.

Its a lovely bit of water, low and clear at the moment however, but good wading area's but be carefull as some bits that look awesome are as silty as hell, and I nearly filled my Simms up a couple of times!

The Glaven, just downstream of the sluice is indeed day ticket (I think), there is a sign by the side of the road. John Bailey fished that bit on his Norfolk programme, beyond that stretch its a closely guarded stretch syndicated all the way past Wiverton bridge down through the next couple of miles.

They tolerate no trespass whatsoever.

Pretty much the rest of the river is a closed shop.

I hope this helps.
Regards
Jas

i dont suppose it was the yarrow farm beats 1 and 2 that u fished was it? because i fished there about 3 weeks ago and the water was very low and a lot of it was very sluggish and silty. i didnt see many trout but managed to catch 2 trout of 2lb and 2.5lb, was £20 an day ticket from Terry Lawson. it was very challenging fishing.
