Default Thirlmere tips!?

Hi folks

Would anyone be so kind as to offer some advice on fishing for trout on Thirlmere? I'm heading up there in the morning.
Gusts of up to 25mph are forecast, so I might be best sticking to 2 flies as my casting isn't brilliant (yet). I have a small inflatable canoe which I plan on using too. I assume standard wet flies will work but particular suggestions would be appreciated, as would any suggestions as to where the best spots are.
In fact, any info at all, assuming I'm not much more than an absolute beginner!

Thanks for reading.

Gavin.

Hope you realise that a permit is now required to fish Thirlmere, available at the farm on the dam road. Then continue over the dam and round the back of the Lake to the car park, you can launch your boat there. I would then concentrate on that shore line (Western) especially around the islands and where becks run into the Lake. 2 or 3 flies on a trad wet cast should suffice.
The weather forecast is very good for 2morrow, ENJOY.
