Southeast Alaska will ban the use of felt soles on wading boots starting in 2011.

I thought those who plan on traveling to the US and Canada would be interested and should be aware that there are dozens of different proposals out there to ban felt soles to stop the spread of invasive aquatic pests and plants.

Some of these proposals could take effect as soon as 2010, so if you're booking or thinking about angling travel to North America next year keep your eye on this issue and make sure you have the right wading boots before you go.
