Reading my local paper this morning I see that a poacher and a fishmonger have been fined, the first for taking a salmon from the Camel river without a licence and the second for buying it from him with the intention of reselling. They got a 2 year suspended sentence (not prison. a fine) with £250 court costs.
I think that another £250 each fine to be paid to the salmon rearing program on the Camel would have been better instead of the 2 years of nothing.
