Default Oxford City centre fly fishing

i seem to recall someone fishing the river ock in oxford city centre for trout a few years ago (was it a magazine article?).

is this still a viable proposition? do you need permits? anyone done it?

Hello mate,
I don't think the ock runs through Oxford I thought it joined the Thames at abingdon.

I know that Sutton courteney club have a stretch in abingdon on there ticket.

As to any trout in there I don't know will ask in tackle shop at the weekend and p.m you

ok, found the article October 07 - it was the stretch of water that runs from oxford castle down to where it joins thames st.

flies are shadow mayfly, floating foam daddy, gold head daddy, pink shrimps and f-fly.

hope this helps, chris

Just looking out my office window at that very river, not a trout in site, I can assure you of that, Chub below the weir and that's about it.

There are trout in the Thames so anything is possible, have never seen anyone fishing, let me know how you get on.

Not sure on permits, there are no signs so wouldn't have thought anyone will check you, would have thought that a rod licence is all that's required.
