I hope I'm not a born pessimist, but I feel that report is spot on, and I genuinely fear for the world. The world is all but out of control. and that is pretty much due to one thing, according to my old best friend, now dead, alas. There are too many people on the planet, and the 'permissive society' and the the general, 'Live today, s-d tomorrow' attitude is going to shove up the population to the point where future generations will be fighting for water or a bit of space in which to stand in comfort. That's if we don't do something about our affect upon the world's climate pretty sharpish. We won't see it, Jim, but I feel and I fear for those who might. TC

Thanks for that wcb, I'm now feeling guilty about that tuna sandwich I had for lunch. It's not just the fish; we are consuming precious irreplaceable resources, eg oil, water, gas, coal, minerals, rainforests etc at an insane rate.
I can see no end to it. Governments will always act in their own national interest, so we can't rely on the politicians to sort it out.
All we as individuals can do is to reduce our consumption. I think I've just given up tuna.

Seems to be the oppisite here , good friend of mine has a trawler and was saying recently that , since the cod quotas were reduced in the last 10-15 years , they have started to thrive again so much so the prices they are getting are very poor . The fish that seems to be scarce just now is big haddock he says its getting harder to find them . you need to go to shetland and sometimes over to norway to get them , hence they get top dollar for them. A dare say the fish levels will be bad in areas all over the world , but if they act now there is every chance they can survive . I just love reading scientist reports they have the world about f****d .
