Default York of Norfolk shop

Has anyone had dealings with this online shop before?

I ordered two of their scoop nets on the 26th may, had a confirmation email saying my order was complete and my bank statement shows the payment was taken on the 27th. My parcel has not arrived, royal mail first class would have arrived if they have posted it.

I'm pretty annoyed to be honest, their website does say allow 28days for delivery but since the have taken my money i dam well expect my parcel to be in the post. If it doesn't arrive later today when i get up, i'm going to give them a call. Not the way i expect business to be done. I don't mind waiting a bit longer as long as i am aware of the wait before ordering and that no money is taken, however this is not the case.

I suppose it may have been lost in the post but i doubt it....

Hi Scotty, I bought one of these a while ago, and it arrived next day, I was very impressed with them.

Scott...firstly just ignore the 28 day thing ...pretty much all websites say that ...it doesn't mean stuff will take 28 days to get to you .
As for this company I ordered a scoop net ( a tenner delivered) after you posted the link recently and it arrived 2 days I believe after I ordered it ( it was late on when I placed the order ) ...You did only order it on the 26th remember .This is only the 1st ( Ok I know it's the 2nd) and there has been a weekend in between .Mine was ordered one day earlier and sent out on the 26th so probably that one day made all the difference .
I reckon we get spoiled by companieds who send stuff out the day it is ordered so when stuff takes a few days to arrive we think the worst . Send them an e-mail or 'phone them but be calm and polite and see what's happening . I reckon that weekend made all the difference and it probably was sent today .
Chill man !!!

Thanks for the replies guys!

I have to change my tune and now say thanks to York of Norfolk! It arrived this morning

My gripe wasn't waiting the week, it was the fact they had charged my card and not posted my order, i don't like that one bit. When the card is charged, the order should be posted that day. But things are all hunky dory now, so i'm happy!

And you guys are right that as internet consumers, we expect things posted same day or next day and to arrive the day after that......

But not all companies work that way Scott....some will charge the card ( or at least reserve the amount) at point of sale and some will wait until the goods are ready to be despatched . It's something you have to accept .If you go on to a site and buy something then you need to have the dosh available and be prepared for it to leave your account so whatever way it is done doesn't bother me ..If you use Paypal ( and possibly Google Checkout and others) then it gets "taken" from your account immediately but it might not be posted for a couple of days or longer .
Just don't get too hung up about it

Yeah..... i know, i know!

I suppose it's because most companies I deal with provide amazing levels of service and I buy a lot of stuff from the net! But i can't really complain, i just received a wooden scoop net for £7.99 that does the exact same job as Hardy's effort at £54.99! Don't care what anyone says about quality, if you bought that net, you are a mug!

That's much the same as what I thought when mine arrived .A tenner delivered for something the same as I'd seen for £57 .It does exactly the same job .Some folk just have too much money !!!
