Default No Wading!!

I am a member of a club with that provides access to a number of chalkstream rivers. Most of the beats are described as ‘No Wading’.

I am unsure as to interpret ‘No Wading’. On the surface, it seems obvious. But does it mean:

• You cannot stick a foot in the river?
• You can only stick one foot in the river?
• You can stick both feet in the river as long as you are not moving?
• You get in the river to make a tricky cast and/or land a fish but you are not to progress up the river whilst wading?

What is the opinion of the forum?

No wading = do not enter the water at all.

If the beat says no wading then im afraid you are not aloud in the water at all. Unless you fall in you have to stay on the banking.

At Lockwood Beck Reservoir in N Yorks there are "No Wading" areas where you are "not allowed to enter the water, except to land a fish". That seems reasonable - but there must be a definition somewhere for the beats you fish?
