Default It's bad luck to. . .?

Hi all.

I know we can be a superstitious lot when fishing, well . .I am at least shall we say. My `bad luck' thing is I never ever fish with my net open. It doesn't matter if I'm in a boat or from the bank, I religiously close my net after landing a fish.

Anyone else?

Hi', Stuart, and welcome to FFF.
I'm not a superstitious person -- I step on cracks, walk under ladders, not bothered by cats, magpies, horse shoes or white heather: but I know for sure that once there is a fish in the bag, I fish more confidently.
Maybe that is because where one fish is found to be feeding, there will be others just as hungry. TerryC

I always put my priest back in my bag, same position, never leaving it out on my seat.

Phew, thank god for that Carl, I was starting to worry that I was a bit strange due to the lack of responses here

Thanks for the welcome Terry.

I would agree,
I always put my priest back in my bag as it is as if the fish can tell if I have it sitting out next to me on the bank or the boat and they seem to know what is coming next........

I'm not superstitious but I never catch fish if my sandwiches have any type of fish in them.

I'm as skeptical as they come, but I'll always salute a magpie and bid her good morning.

Over the years I've lost a few fish while struggling to open the net with one hand and playing it with the other, so now I make sure that the fish is really played out before I touch the net. Not bad luck - bad practice!
