Default Fishing when it is hot and sunny....

Hello fisher people, while it is summer in Scotland this weekend I was toying with the idea of wetting a line tomorrow somewhere for a few hours. I haven't been out (other than a couple of hours on my local river to no avail) for three weeks now and I have a craving and am getting the shakes.

However with it being scorchio and bright as heck I anticipate the fishing to be somewhat more challenging as the fish will be down out of the sun.

Would it just be a case of using an intermediate and a long leader to get down deeper or even a sinker?

Or is it just as well to lie in the garden and work on the tan?

Any advice (as usual) is greatfully received.

Thanks

This was something I was wondering about as well. What are the ideal conditions for the use of floating, intermediate and sinking lines? I know it is a bit of a broad question but any advice would really be appreciated,

I personally would ask the question "what are the trout feeding on and are the weather conditions a factor in that choice". It would be unwise to base your choice of fly line purely on the weather conditions for that day.
