I've just been trying to upload a new avatar. I tried from my computer with an image the correct size but it isn't accepted. I tried to upload from Photobucket but got "Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file."
Anyone got any suggestions as to why I can't successfully upload?

You can't upload from your computer straight to the forum.but once reduced to correct size you should have been able to pick it up from photobucket,. did you delete your old avetar.

I've had no problems uploading images from my Picasa 3 folders. Photos or images saved from websites... they all seem to work fine.

I'm no expert on the suject, but It used to be the case that photos had to be hosted remotely.has this changed.

Thanks Jim. I did delete my old Avatar. The image size on Photobucket is small enough but I just got the error message. Maybe there was a fault with the forum. I will try again later.

langland_fisher try uploading the image from your computer instead of a hosting site (it's the lower option in the `edit avatar' page).
Just make sure you've re-sized it first.
