Default Float tube

Thinking of buying a float tube, can anyone offer advice? Cost, 1st time purchase, is it worth it? etc.

Thanks,
Gaz

Hi Gaz, I am new to this game myself, and bought one last year.
I have only managed one proper day up to now, with an experienced tuber on Stocks.
It's great fun and you soon learn.
I bought mine for mainly drifting the shores on Lake Ullswater, where I live, and looking forward to getting out on the nice evenings.
Strong winds are not good for obvious reasons.
Have a look at the BFTA site, that's quite useful, and sometimes things for sale.
Whatever you do , get a life jacket!!! before you take to the water, and have a look at the Shakespeare Expedition model, seems popular.
Good luck and enjoy, and get someone to video you first time out, you will more than likely get your costs back from you've been framed, as you are bound to do something daft.

Mike Barrios forum is also a good source of info ,see below
http://www.fishingthefly.co.uk/forum....php?board=4.0
Also a gossip with steve Parton is very informative and he beat GAC and several others on price for a shakespeare tube and fins .
Do go for it if you have waters not too far from home that permit it ,its so relaxing ,comfortable and safe !
