Okay Scooby,I'll kick it off for Rivers:
Parachute Adams (14 & 16)
F Fly (16)
CDC Comparadun (16)
Black Klinhammer (14 on a Klinkhammer hook)
Fawn Klinkhammer (sa above)
There's the first 5 and I don't need much more.

Add a black gnat and ant. If you want to go after grayling the red tag and treacle parkin will be ideal

I think if I only carried these dry flies I would catch just as many fish

March Brown
Kites Imperial
Wonderwing black gnat
Klinkhammers (Olive and Black)
Red spinner
G and H sedge
F Fly

However just in case I have another two tins of flies, many of which I would struggle to name.

CDC buzzers

Although I guess this is an emerger pattern really?

Try and use them at the start of the hatch and they tend to catch most of my fish

It depends on where you fish.
While some of them above are great they are too big where i normally fish.
I think to a large extent it depends on the make up and fly life in the water.

Shipmans, Hoppers and Shuttlecocks for still waters, Klinks and Griffiths Gnat for rivers.

Small F Fly's for both, CDC and Elk(or Dear) for both

just a couple for me. reverse para's in various colours and sizes 8's down to 18's, and a snowshoe rabbit comparadun style in various colours and sizes 16s down to 24's/26's. As long as they are matching the hatch its all good, sunk body patterns work very well.
