Default Trout and Salmon Gift Arrangement Changes

My quarterly direct debit to T+S is due to be taken on 12th June so wanting the current free gift of an Orvis line I called them up and the girl said that the arrangements had changed and that she had to cancel the direct debit and start a new one .So that got done painlessly and as it happened the payments have actually reduced as well .
So if your sub from Bauer Mags is due for renewal don't forget to 'phone them in plenty time .

Hope you have better luck than me - I took out a T&S subscription in January (having either bought the mag or had a sub for years) when the free gift was a landing net - waited 6 weeks - no landing net - was informed by Great Magazines - "all orders had been dispatched and the post office hadn't returned any undelivered nets" - would I like a line instead? - yes please - no line appears and no May issue either - made contact again - apparently they'd cancelled my subscription (not sure why) and had written to me to tell me as much - a letter which never arrived. Not sure why my subscription was cancelled, assumed it was down to me changing banks although Molley's post has me wondering. In the end I lost so much confidence in dealing with their customer service by e-mail that I bought the May issue from my local newsagent, filled in the subscription slip and posted it. Fingers crossed...anyone would think they don't want my money!!!

Have given up any hope of receiving my line by the time I go on my hols. Suppose I should just be grateful if it turns up...

That's odd. I have a sub to Trout Fisherman and when I renewed it they said they would send me out the gift which was a large tackle bag .It didn't arrive and I phoned them so the gift at that time was a line so they sent that out and it arrived and the next day so did the bag..dunno where it had been ? Any other gifts for other mags have always arrived .I wasnt aware until quite recently that if you pay by a rolling direct debit you can still claim for the gift at the anniversary of your sub so I guess I have missed a few over the years .

How does that work,do you have to phone them to get the current gift.

Fot Trout Fisherman I just phoned them just before the anniversary and they sent me the gift ( well 2 gifts as it turned out) but for Trout + Salmon ,as I said, they've changed the arrangements so when i phoned tonight the girl cancelled my Direct Debit and started up a new one and she ordered the gift I wanted (which is a choice of Orvis Trout line or Salmon line said to be worth £49). The coupon in T + S even has a box you tick to get the gift sent if you ask them to continue the sub but it's easier to do it by phone..
