Default Sore bum

Nope, nothing kinky or sordid just a day spent on Grafham . . .

I don't spend lots of time in boats but a proper boat seat is starting to look appealing. My backside is proper tender after a day on a hard board. Not sure I can justify the cost but I'm tempted to see if I can make something.

Fishing was tough going as well, lost a brown and landed just one rainbow. Tried all sorts and was getting most frustrated until I returned and it seems lots of others struggled as well.

On another note the amount of aquatic life in there is huge. When pulling the anchor up complete with weed it was festooned with shrimps and various other beasties.

You should have tried drifting mate you cover more water that way

Get yourself a decent boat seat, even if you don't boat fish a lot it's a worthwhile investment and makes for a much more enjoyable day. I'm surprised Rutland and Grafham don't rent these out by now, the number of people who go fishing that don't have them, surely they could make money on rentals.

I don't have a drogue so my drift was way too fast . . . something else I'll have to invest in no doubt.

Another thing they could rent out, I'm going on Thursday so I will ask John Mees why they don't do this. I'm guessing it's the hassel of it all, but there must be some money to be made, would you hire these items if they were available?

Possibly, of course that would depend on the cost. Drogues aren't exactly expensive to buy but a decent seat is certainly a big outlay for a casual boat angler so hiring would definitely be an option.

Why not get a 'pile comforter' inflatable seat from Steve Parton ? Small, cheap, easily portable tough and extremely comfortable !

You could get one of these clamp ons for about £80 including import tax or maybe one of these for about £55 although you'd have to buy the swivel and clamp or bunji it to the thwart. Alternatively go for the old school approach and get some closed cell foam, stick it in some builders polythene and gaffa tape it up. To be blunt, you may find the last option a sweaty crack nightmare.

Are there any issues with buying from the US?

Sunrider , check out http://www.marinescene.co.uk

Pretty easy to make one yourself that is very similar to a TLD deluxe - should cost you about £ 50 or so .

Hope this helps

Try this with no import problems and cheaper

http://http://toftnewton.com/shop/in...roducts_id=121

Not got one or seen one .....but at under 25quid its damn near 'throw away'

Note no swivel facility so make sure you 'park' in the right direction
