Default Best insect identification guide

Hi Guys,

Would appreciate your input. What do you think is the best streamside, insect identification guide ?

I could do with some help on this one.

My ideal would be waterproof / individual plasticised sheets or card and cover both terrestial and aquatics in the UK. Does such a thing exist ?

Nigel

I'll give it a third recommendation; also look at "Matching the Hatch" by : Pat O'Reilly, both excellent books!

Hi There,

"My ideal would be waterproof / individual plasticised sheets or card"

I have one. It is called Trout Flies....The Naturals

It was written by Gerry Yewlett and published by Jogger.

It was printed in 1994 by Fericon Press of Reading.

Mine is a bit battered and worn now so if there is a new version I would be a buyer.

Best Regards

robbie

Hi Robbie

I recently went to an Orvis open Day where i met Stuart Croft. He put me onto a really good site "Field Studies Council". On here you can purchase laminated sheets with real easy step by steps to finding the correct nymph fly etc, they are not expensive either £3.50 i think. Only downside perhaps is they probably wouldnot fit in your pocket. Take a look you may be surprised

Tony
