Default The Sixmilewater (Antrim)

Took a wee walk up it the other night (for those of you who don't know...it suffered a massive fishkill last year about this time).
I seen a lot of flylife on the water and was suprised to see a lot of wee trout rising. Went up and got the 7ft fly rod and had a great half hour pulling fish out from all angles.

2 points:
Its a good sign that a lot of fish survived!

and

Size don't matter.... on that little rod, i was getting some good sport!!!

So for you that live local...its still relatively fishable!

It will take a while, but the pools will gradually re populate.

There has been horrendous habitat destruction, after the flooding. Paradise Walk is unrecognisable from previous years.

The club need to do some serious work on parts of the river.
