Default Sky sports and fishing

I was considering subscribing to sky sports for fishing programmes. I don't have much of an interest in other sports so it's really just for the fishing. So my question is, is it worth it? Is there much on worth watching? A search on the website doesn't bring up much about fishing but I often hear forum members talk about this and that seen on sky sports.

Thanks

Richard

Virtually no fishing at all on sky sports. Most of the fishing in on discovery shed (channel 242). If you dont like sport other than fishing........save a few quid by not having sky sports

There are only 2 programmes I can think of that has fishing and that is tightlines and the bass pro fishing. So save your money and go to shed instead.

I have Sky Sports and there is hardly anything on there. Maybe the odd show on Sky Sports 3 but youre better off with the discovery channels.

Yup.I'd agree with that Practically every night there is something on .A Sky + Box is a big help as some are at very unsocial times but they get repeated ad nauseum.
Paul Young ( best of them all),Chris somebody,John Wilson,Matt Hayes etc etc .

Thanks for the advice. As I live in Amsterdam it would be an online subscription so would even get Home & Leisure. I'll keep buying DVD's then.

Ah.....afaik you can't sub to Sky from a non-UK address but I believe plenty folk do using a friends help ....aplication gets made from friends address and card gets posted to other friend who puts card in box ..can't remember how they get round the 'phone number thing tho' but it obviously can be done .A look in the Sky Forums in Digital Spy might help.

CanalSat host discovery in France and I think they do Germany too. Not sure if you have them in the NL. One nice solution if you've got ooodles of broadband is to set up your subscriber TV at the rellies place in the UK and use a 'sling-box' to channel it to wherever you are watching on the web. You'll need a decent whack to get it though, but you get the advantage of time-shifting so you can watch when you want. If you move or are away on business you can still watch the TV progs from the UK set-up too.

Heck if you stuck a DVD jukebox on it you could invite your friends around to watch fishing programmes in your virtual livingroom.
