Unhappy Para drogue set up

Bought a para drogue, mainly to save pulling drogue in every time wanting to move to new drift.
what i would like to know is, is it possible to set drogue to drift side on to the wind?
ie - if iwant to fish say along the north shore and the wind is from the south east blowing me into the shore, can i shorten one rope of the drogue so that the drogue is lying at an angle in the water, or will the drogue just collapse?
Whats your experience on this?

cheers

willie

Yes, you can alter the angle of the drift by either shortening one of the cords attached to the boat, or by moving the G clamps. You'll have to make allowance for the fact that no boat will drift square on to the wind anyway. There's this big lump of metal attached to one end of it, usually with the prop shaft in the water acting as a rudder, and two probably uneven sized blokes in there as well, acting as sails. Experiment away by all means.
