dont know if its me but just bought some new crystals and my god they are potent ,whats best way to prevent mite infestation in a fly tying case , leave them in one bag with a few pinholes in or add a few crystals to each packet of fur feather etc ........

Hi', Caddisman, a very wise move. I have never lost a fly to the mites, but once had 'woolly bugs' in an old fly wallet that had leaves made from old woollen blanket material. No flies in the wallet, but the moths got in there and their larvae ate holes in the leaves. It went on the fire!! All my fly tyng material has crumbled moth ball protection, and any material given me, by those who shoot game, is immediately de-bugged by scalding, then dried and packed with a pinch of moth ball.
