Default Slovenia.

Been contemplating giving the website at the head of the forum page a ring, sounds interesting, anyone had any experience fishing this area,or even with this company? With flights reasonably cheap now it could be a good pressie for my impending 40'th-now just got to convince the missus......

You won't regret it, Mike. If you ring them talk to Matej (the j is silent). Near perfect English and a fishing fanatic. 00386 45 742 631

The fish are demons...that water is deeper than it looks and fast flowing to add to the excitement. Here's another to wet your appetite.

Ade,

Your best bet would be to ring Matej or email him: fauna@faunabled.com

The Trout season is coming to an end but dates vary in different parts of the river. Grayling is longer.

On that day they were all Rainbows but the day before, all Browns...don't ask me why..they are equally distributed on the river! The bigger fish are deeper but if you want a load of fun put a spider on and catch Brownies at about three to the pound..they go absolutely berserk

There is apparently some superb Grayling water down near lake Jezero but again, they are pretty well all over the river. I saw a chap take an absolute stonker right where I had been catching Browns all day.

We flew EasyJet from Stansted to Lubliana which is about an hours easy drive from Bohinje or Bled. I don't think you can get there from anywhere else, at the moment.

Just returned for Slovenia as well. I fished the chalk streams Krka and Unica. While I haven’t done up the trip report yet, I have posted the photos. If you would like to take a look go to:

Nice pictures Michael. I look forward to reading the fishing report.
