Default Irish mosquitoes repellent

Hi There,

My brother is going to Ireland end of May. Last he was under the attack of thousands of mosquitoes he could barely fish.
Any knows about efficient mosquitoes repellent ?

Jungle formula.(expedition).Bens.50% or Bens75%(I found I only needed 100% for Midges) Autan tropical strength.

Avon skin so soft. The blue coloured one seems to repel just about everything. I use it when walking in midge infested scotland but it has also kept the mosquitoes at bay when i'm abroad.

It seems to be an individual thing with SSS, It does not work with me at all.

Are you sure we are not talking about chironomids here....
I fished on Corrib for a week last year in May and the number of buzzers that were around on a still evening was mind blowing.
I can remember playing a fish in the twilight when I happened to notice that I could hardly see the skin on my hand holding the rod, because it was covered in adult buzzers....

They didnt stop us from fishing though....too many big swirls and glugging going on from the troot......

The best by far is about 4 pints of Guinness per night. Serves as an excellent waterproofing agent as well.

Cigar smoke, Head net, flame thrower and Napalm.

I have tried all the major repellents, DEET, Jungle Formula.......the Irish midges seem immune.

They can seriously ruin your days fishing.

I would try smoking a cigar through a Gimp mask, it might help.
