Default tapered leaders.

Heard a lot of talk about these. How do they work?

They work by constantly transferring energy down the line, thicker line is continually turning over finer line.

I always use a tapered leader. They give must better presentation and turnover. Level leaders are pretty useless, unless you are perhaps using a team of three flies. Even then, a tapered butt section helps transfer the energy from the fly line to the leader.
