Hi Guys
We all have favorite flys, flys we rely on. We can and often do become "dependent" on them and some what "blinkered" to other patterns and methods.
I often go out with the intention of trying out new methods and fly patterns, yet lack of confidence and fear of "blanking" get the better of me and i turn to old faithfuls
I have found ways of over coming some of these doubts, such as putting your favorite fly on point and putting an untrusted pattern on the dropper often you are rewarded
But when it comes to a leap of faith , such as fishing a team of buzzers or what ever method you are unfamiliar with its gets really hard NOT to switch back to your to flys
To this end i find now if i really want to give certain flys a fair go or methods i simply only take them

makes you try and i find often learn a lot
How do you do it ?? or are you stuck in a rut
