Default You know your 13 yr old is getting serious about his fishing when .....

..... he wanders down to Blockbuster, trades in the latest version of 'Resident Evil' and with the proceeds, heads straight to the tackle shop to buy
- snippers
- a zinger
... and a priest

UL, I think the lad just might be approaching the age where you and he need to have The Talk. For whatever reason, I'm getting the feeling that they may not be covering all the facts about C&R in schools these days.

But I have to admire the boy's ability to prioritize.

If he's bought a priest you'd better be worried!

it usually means he plans on catching fish, which will inevitably mean more and or bigger than yours lol

I'm sure that'll put a smile on your face anyway

And with any luck, she'll be out when all the parcels arrive.

Not that any of us would rush up stairs with a parcel and quickly dispose of all packaging, while secreting the new items with the rest of the gear......

He actually made his own decision on this one Grouse and in a way, I'm quite impressed.
Until recently, he wouldn't contemplate killing a fish and we'd always return any fish caught. However, more recently, we've been to stocked fisheries which insist you kill your first 1,2 4 or whatever fish and then go C&R. One evening, we were out with an instructor who showed him a couple of ways to despatch a fish without a priest. He's obviously thought about these methods, decided he didn't like them and gone for the priest as the most humane and acceptable method for him and fish.
I guess it makes me quite proud of him really
