Essentially although your sure to find some that disagree i would say yes it is. It should be called the abstract egg

If fished static then it could easily be taken for an egg. The same could be said of daphnia clouds.

I think it's fair to say the blob is a suggestive pattern, and imitates absolutely nothing!

Default blobs and eggs

hi, I saw this post and saw an opportunity to ask myself a question, How does one go about fishing en egg fly or a blob, i have a few of each on my box and never been used.
and id say a blob is basically an abstract egg like has been said.

My answer would be no.

Wouldnt an egg in real life be more or less static whereas fishing with blobs requires one to retrieve the line pretty fast like lure fishing in my experience.

I see many fishing them static under an visual depth indicator.Their choice ,got nothing against it myself, but just saw a simalarity between eggs and blobs.
Not saying they are the same but simaler qualities the way some fish them.
