Default One Fly for Trout in the Classroom - many thanks to all

Many thanks to everyone who gave a little or a lot to our fundraising efforts based around the River Test One Fly competition.

All the money raised (and our team raised over £2,000) will go to help kick start the Wild Trout Trust's project to roll out Trout in the Classroom (pioneered on the Wandle) round the country. A great cause I think.

I hope you'll be pleased to learn also that our team won. Obviously. What else?

I fished Parsonage, which was a new experience I can tell you, and wangled five (and a half - it touched the net) on a ... ahem ... well let's just say when I saw the water I left the hare's ear nymph in the box. My fly was more Ann Summers than Fred Halford.

Nick Zoll was given Wherwell where he could see the fish and caught a hatful on a proper fly. He won top rod too.

There'll be a feature on the day in the next issue of The Field.

Anyone else who wants to support the Trout in the Classroom project the fundraising page is still open:

http://www.justgiving.com/wildtrouttrust

Meanwhile I'll be putting those names of donors in a hat as I promised and will drop the winner a PM about a day's fishing.

Thanks again.

Charles.

Well done Charles. I was hoping to bring the Tight Lines cameras along - but other commitments prevented it this year.

Hopefully we'll be there for the next one.
