Default Our Rivers

Just wondering if anyone seen this website before http://www.ourrivers.org.uk/.

The home page says the following :-

"You are the voice for your river and there has never been a better time to use that voice. Under the Water Framework Directive, plans must be approved by the end of 2009 detailing how all our rivers will be restored to health.

By Standing Up For Your River through this campaign, you can join a movement to ensure that the necessary actions are taken to safeguard our rivers.

Follow the simple steps in this site to make sure that your views are heard."

Hi Matt,
Not seen that web-site before; but I like it so far! - Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Hi Matt,

I'll take a good look over the weekend.

The Sence is looking good BTW (interested observer only).
Cheers,

Davidh

Default Water Framework Directive - River Basin Management Plans

This afternoon I've been to a Fisheries Briefing at our Environment Agency regional office; this was the last formal review meeting with the EA before the Water Framework Directive consultation period closes on 22 June.

At this meeting we, representatives from angling organisations within the region (North West - South area), were urged to submit responses - both personally and from our organisations.

Unfortunately this topic has received little coverage, but the resulting River Basin Management Plans will form the basis of river management policy by the EA in England at least until 2027!

If you do fish rivers, and have an interest in their future, please do take the opportunity to register your interest.

Andrew
