Unhappy Lake of menteith closure

Heard today that the lake of menteith has had to close.

Hopefully it won't be closed for too long. I was there only a few weeks ago and had a great day.

All the best to the staff and hope that the lake has a speedy recovery!

Why????????

#Beat me to it Jim by 2 seconds. That's sad, at least it isn't permanent, need to sort out the source of the nutrients though, no doubt a farmer muck spreading somewhere or a water plant discharging phosphates.

I believe its natures way of telling us its getting a bit peeved off with the way the loch is ecological wise. What with the constant restocking and pressure on the Lake, its decided, enough is enough.

A bit similar to the swine flu / Bird flue etc in humans. Its a little shot over the bows to say your not looking after the planet guys.
