That's the stuff. Totally brilliant stuff but expensive considering you can go through a bottle on a good day but once you've got the empty applicator bottle track John Tyzack down on this forum and he can supply you with the powder in bulk at a fraction of the price (and I do mean a fraction of the price) but you definately need an empty frogs fanny bottle first (or something similar)

Is this a wind up never heard of the stuff? I have a friend in the usa and he is big into hunting with a bow and apparently he uses apowder on the feathers of the arrow to make them waterproof he is not quite sure if it would work on flies but he is going to find out, will let you know

Frogs Fanny does indeed exist, you put the fly in the bottle and shake, not convinced its any better than other foatants though.

Tiemco dry shake is the best one that I've found, I did A LOT of testing on floatants, and this one was amazing, quite frankly the fly wouldn't sink! After 70 full immersions under water it still popped back up, then somebody opened the door and the draft blew the fly across the surface!

Not cheap, but if you want a fly to float perfectly, buy it. It does turn the fly white though, so get the dun coloured version if you can. Less embarrasing to ask for too.

Magic stuff! Put some on yer nymphs and pop them in a pint pot full of water. Then check out the amazing pre-eclosion air bubble!

Thanks for the replies,i was just wondering would it be any advantage to treat the feather with the powder before you tie the fly?
