Hi,
Check out e-bay, I got 50mtr spool a while back for making braided loops, 20lb or 30lb was available at the time, try searching for braided backing.

The seller only had 25mtr spools listed, so I mailed him and he did me a 50, no problem.

Regards V..

search for HOLLOW braided backing, when you search for just braided backing it also shows the micro stuff, which isn't hollow and you can't thread your line into it or make the braided loops by passing it through itself. I'd take Jim's word for it, but i haven't seen the airflo stuff myself. Masterline do it in a variety of colours and there is plenty of unbranded/no frills on ebay. mullarkey's used to do bulk spools, they may still do.

regards

yeah mullarkeys do bigger spools, 200m i had from them, they do ron thompson and the masterline stuff which is available in a hi-viz yellow colour. the airflo stuff is thinner and a tighter weave so for lines of 5 weight and below get this stuff it produces a much nicer neater loop

A related question if I may - any good sources for the sleeve tubing to go with it? different sizes, to suit everything from thin Di7 lines and fatter #8 floaters. I've particularly had a problem with Di7 lines as most tubing you get is too wide bore to get a decent grip.

i use shrink tube, the korda 1.2mm-0.5mm stuff for carp rigs

were the loop ends slide the shrink tube over immerse in hot water and the tubing will shrink down so there is almost no bump then just add a dab of glue to each end so there is no bump at all and it glides through your rod rings a treat
