Default The Wife

Hello folks. New blood and all that.

Anyway, she wants me to teach her how to fly cast......

My question is this.

Should I:

A. Ignore her, and retire to the Pub.

B. Be in the Pub already, and ignore her regardless, coz me pals are there.

C. Seek private reconstructive facial surgery, prior to A & B.

D. ................................No................................Never!

Hi and welcome , I think you very lucky to have a mrs who wants to learn . Think about it , you will not have to worry about her staying at home all pi$$ed off because you out fishing as she would be there with you .
BE WARNED !!! You might have to live with her out fishing you as a lot of woman are really very good at fishing , this also covers the fluff chucking

"I think you very lucky to have a mrs who wants to learn"

Do you? Are you married?

"Think about it , you will not have to worry about her staying at home all pi$$ed off because you out fishing as she would be there with you"

I don't. Washing up and ironing should occupy the mind sufficiently.

Dazzle,

She'll undoubtedly catch either more or bigger than you do, so accept that as a starting point. In fact, I would say that any of the ladies who fish for their respective National sides could probably out fish 90% of the people on this forum, because once "she" makes up her mind to do something she tends to get rather good at it.

Wink

wait till its the nastiest of weather ,rain ,sleet ,snow, gle force winds, then tell her its a perfect day to fish,
let her try her utmost to fish until she gets cold,wet.hungry.etc etc,and when she declares maybee this fly fishing isnt for me,you declare,"well we did try " but its not for everyone,"
And there you have it,thats the last of that great idea.

It worked for me,and in 19years of marriage, her indoors has never asked again.

What you have to do for peace and tranquility.

Nice tip Bry, that's where I've gone wrong. Duly noted for the next time she asks

On a side note, my missus wanted to learn to shoot, so being the sporting kind that I am, I took a nice lightweight gun, which happens to be chambered for 3".

After a few 3" cartridges, she decided it wasn't for her

Unfortunately, she had another go at a gamefair and the instructor used light shells, she now wants another go.

The daughter and I treasure our peace and quiet too much to try and teach my wife how to fish!!!

However, if insanity does prevail and you decide to take the plunge how in the world are you going to teach her as it is a given that any wife knows everything better than her husband! The shooting also sounds awfully ominous to me. Have you upped your life insurance recently?

dont teach her yourself, it will only lead to arguements

first thing I did when she expressed an interest about coming out this season was seek professional help for her, that way she gets no bad habits and no marital strife!

Great advice
My wife has no interest in fishing and seems to be quite happy when I disappear
I do however remember giving her driving lessons and to say Im suprised we are still together is an understatement
