What does the house think to the implementation of OSM, to come in Jan 2010, where the water authorities, industry and farmers measure their own discharges from sewage farms/cso‘s, outlet pipes and slurry tanks. Hasn't a system where a polluter finds himself guilty already been tried, tested and found to be inappropriate?

Well yes, it is a money saving initiative on behalf of the EA but they promise to monitor the monitors to make sure we get fair play. I am sure that those utilities, known for their integrity, will record studiously and honestly their breaches in consent.

My local Water Authority was instructed by the EA to contact them immediately a discharge from a contentious CSO occured. They continued to forget to do so, but I'm sure it was a little hiccup in communication; they've got alot to think about, bless 'em.

Well what a **** up!

When it comes to self regulation of sewerage/water industries,They have been appalling.

Well the toothless lions at EA can't do that now.

IMO Yorkshire Water are my biggest culprit/threat and certainly hold the record for repeat offences.

CSO output is one of my major campaigns and I now have a direct contact within YW as a consequence of the 'compensation flow' talks......Which is great for the one river but we have thousands(CSO's) within the catchment.

Here's one I e-mailed to them on the 2/4 (previous rainfall was 23/3).....and the joke.....its STILL going.(and still no rain save a two hour event)
