Lightbulb Airflo 6th Sense question

Hi guy's/gals, I am about to buy some 6th sense lines I use 10'-7# rods, What i need to know is should I buy 6-7# or 7-8# lines.
I am a proficient caster.

Jim

Jim, I asked the same question of Sportfish, in respect of my Fenwick 9' 6" 7 weight rod and buying Airflo 6th sense "glass" lines. The instant answer from the Sportfish guy was "go with the 6-7", I did, and my rod casts these very well. I am a competent journeyman flyfisher

Hi Jim , i am somewhat suprised to see you ask such a question
The reason i say this is because you seem to me to be a man who really knows his stuff ( and a very helpful man at that ) I know that you will know what your rods are like , do they need a heavier line to load them ?? If not (and i am guessing here ) dont you go for the lightest line you can ???

I use 7/8 on my Hardy Swift mk2 and my Loop Opti before that.

Jim,for what its worth,I feel that my 6/7 SS fast inter, errs a wee bit on the light side.It doesnt load my rods( Enigma EMG #6 and Greyflex M2 6/7) the way the Delta fast glass does.

You are correct,In that i would tend to go for the lighter ,but I have been caught out by Airflo lines in the past, Being over/underweight,But mostly over.I know many use the slow /fast inters on here so thought I could save myself some grief/money.The rods I use can easily handle 1 line# o/size without any problem. And I use this regularly when I am roll casting/space is tight. but I would rather get the correct rating.

I use the 7/8 sinkers on my 10' 7-wt Sage XP and my 10' 8-wt G-Tec. Both cast them fine. However, I'd have to say that while the Sage throws them a prodigious distance, they do 'feel' heavy on that rod.
All my floaters and sink tips are 7-wt. If I expect to be fishing small flies up in the water I set up the XP, if I expect to be pulling lures I set up the G-Tec.
