Have not read it & have no mind to do so but here is an online review you might want to read.

Haven't read it but saw it heavily plugged by the author on his web site....the sort of thing that put me right off. All "ain't I wonderful and now I'll share my secrets with you" sort of stuff.

Yellowfish, the best way to improve one's skills is to join a club and mix with better/more experienced anglers and always ask questions of someone catching on the bank, without spoiling their fishing, of course.

No idea about the book, other than being turnd off by the heavy pimping. I'll also say that anyone who counts trout to the exactness such that he knows he's caught over 15,000 makes me question if he's in the sport for the right reasons.

I'm also generally dubious about "how to" fishing books. The just don't do it for me. There's way too much lost when it's put down on the page.

Now I will say this. If you want to catch trout, learn how to nymph. Nymphing is far and away the most effective way to fish trout and yet it recieves probably 1/100 of the attention of the dry fly. Why? Because fishing the dry fly is pretty. Fishing the nymph just works.
