My first attempt and lesson
Hi all,
At last, I have had my first go at fly fishing, Its fantastic.
I went to Brick Farm Lakes at Herstmoceaux, East Sussex on thursday and had my first lesson with Peter from Lagoon Bait and tackle in Hove. A very patient man he is. He checked all my gear and then taught me to cast on the top lake. Its harder than I thought as there is so much to take in but worth it. I have never had so much fun even though I have caught large tuna off the back of a boat, bottom fished for snapper etc. this beats it all.
I had a few pulls that I missed and a few hooked that I managed to drop but in the end I caught 2 lovely rainbows just under 2lb each and boy do they fight. They tasted great too. Many thanks to the guys at Brick farm and a special thanks to Peter for the lesson, I look forward to the next one.
Cant wait to get out there and try again, the only problem I am having is venues as I live in Shoreham by sea and I dont want to allways fish stocked lakes. I want to stalk rivers too and locally its doesnt seem goo. Im also on a tight budget so I cant afford the expensive waters either.
