Talking Meadow Fishery?

Hello everyone.

Has anyone fished Meadow Fishery before? I dropped in after work earlier on today and it looks quite good. Really, really clear though.

I was talking to the lady that was in the shop and she was really helpful. I asked her how easy or hard it was and she could have easily blabbed a lot of lies about how easy it is but she didn't. She explained that it was quite hard with it being clear and how a lot of people today had blanked.

I wouldn't mind giving it a go. If anyone has any info it would be greatly received!

Thanks for all the help!

Tom.

used to fish here quite a bit, didn't find it to hard.

suffered a lot with water temperature and weed last time i went (to be fair it was mid summer)

stopped fishing there when they tried to charge me for 2 tickets as i had my 8 year old son with me. he wasn't going to be fishing but i was trying to introduce him to the sport - ie i cast out he brings it back, but i was told i NEEDED to buy 2 tickets.

so i told her i NEEDED to go somewere else ... and i did.

Haven't been back since and don't intend to unless they have had a change of attitude.

I have been there many times.
The shop is brilliant.
The staff are very helpful and polite.

At the moment the 1st lake is under going some work and is closed to fishing.

The downside of this place (As far as I am concerned) is that they have wooden seats at each peg and this encourages people to sit at the peg all day and never move.
So you may not get the chance to move around.
They also seem to host many local club comps, so its worth phoning before you visit.

I've fished it a few times, mostly in club competitions and found it not too hard. In the middle lake the water is often less clear and a good idea is to fish into the wind if there is any as the fish are often very close in on that shore. Buzzers can work very well in these conditions fished almost under the rod tip.

The shop is well stocked and I've never had a problem with the staff but I know more than one angler who has had a problem with the management of the fishery and have vowed never to go back.

I haven't fished there for several years so things may be different now.

I always found it on the easy side to be honest - and I'm **** at rainbows!

A nice venue but the guy who runs it is a tool.

Been once, staff were rude and never been scince. Heard that from a few people. The only thing is, that was over 6 years ago so things may have changed. If anyone needs advice on how to hold a grudge then get in touch!!!

lol I will remember that

Thanks everyone for your help! I think I've decided on Pendle View for Sunday. Have to give Meadow Fishery a go another time.

Thanks again for your help.

Tom!

Hi Tom,
Have you visited Mere Beck?
I think the distance to meadow or mere beck is roughly the same from Liverpool.
