Lightbulb the future of fishing

This might ruffle a few feathers but this is how i would like to see fishing in the future .

I will set it in derbyshire as this is my local area.
In the future all fishing on the rivers in the peak district is taken out of the hands of private hands like the duke of devonshire and the duke of Rutland and run on a day ticket basis controlled by the national park so for instance you can purchase a day ticket on the bank from the bailiff and get access to any river across derbyshire and the money made from the ticket sale pays for maintaining the rivers

it'll be fine, the canoeists will be paying a launch fee and there will be tollbooths every 2 miles

A disaster.

Personally, i'd keep it as it is. If you allow free for all association type fishing, you'll end up with a US style of combat fishing around the main towns, with fast turnover stocking, poaching, cheating etc etc. (I am not referring to all US fishing by the way, I'm well aware of some of the amazing fishing there) The bait fishers will argue that fly fishing's elitist so some rivers will become any method, and the fly only stretches will be limited. We have a small island with a large population, and IMO theres a good mix of free fishing, expensive manicured fishing, and commercial fishing to appeal to all budgets. Sadly some people are wealthier than others, which is why there aren't millions of people lining the Alta, Gaula, and Test, but theres wonderful fishing out there for all.

I know shockingly cheap isn't it. Bringing it all down in my opinion.

I think i know exactly which beat you are referring to, and they limit the number of anglers to 12, to limit the pressure on the fishing and make sure the anglers have a decent day. What sort of price do you think they can levy and make that commercially viable?

I don't mind paying my local fishery barlow lakes charge for the trout fishing
Full day ( Dawn-dusk) £14.00 (four fish taken)
and that includes fishing on a fresh water stream
http://www.barlowlakes.co.uk/tickets.htm
so how some places can justify charging £65 per day is beyond me it's just elitism they don't want the everyday angler there they only want the wealthy anglers

You are paying for the fishing, the type of fishing, the environment around it, the low angling pressure, not sharing it with many other anglers etcetera. It does not bear comparison with a day ticket fishery like that, that's like saying how can the Hilton justify charging x when I can get a room at the Travelodge for y....

You need to sit down quietly for a few hours and think this through more thoroughly.

Unless, this is a troll?
