I am sure that they have their own site so you could check there for reports.

Best to leave the car at Wemyss Bay ferry terminal (or secure parking for £3 across from the BP) and get the ferry over then get a taxi (fiver max) to Fad then get a taxi back to the ferry terminal. Taking your car is expensive so your better off getting a taxi if there are a couple of you to share the costs.

Timetables etc are on the Cal-Mac website.

Not bad for someone who has never fished Fad before!

Google is your friend.

Good info from Pointy Shadow. What are your circumstances ? If you are in a large group fishing from boats then you should be OK.

If you are intending to get legless and fish from the bank then you will have plenty like minded company.

Fad stocking policy encourages fishmongers and is a bit desperate, why not have a look at Loch Quein for decent browns in a quieter setting. Bank fishing where you don't need to dodge the toby's and bubble floats or 4 boats which mean a group can virtually have full roaming rights.

I had a look at Fad last year, when i went over for a wedding,
I agree with Pointy Shadow leave your car at Wemyss Bay,and take a taxi,
Its a decent road right down to the Loch, and its not far, so a fiver Taxi wont be far away
